Our story
Why we started
Marria Tax Hub began with an international student who arrived in Canada and kept reading about people who built something meaningful in their twenties. That felt worth trying.
After finishing an accounting diploma at BCIT at 21, the answer seemed obvious: don’t wait for permission. Start.
But the real reason came from what we kept seeing. Canada runs on immigration, and newcomers are often the ones charged the most and told the least. People paid hundreds of dollars for a return, walked out with a number they didn’t understand, and had no one to call when a CRA letter arrived six months later.

We started Marria Tax Hub to do the opposite: reasonable pricing, real explanations, and a business that’s still there when you have a question.

What we believe
No one can promise you a bigger refund.
You’ve seen the ads. Maximum refund guaranteed. We’ll get you more back.
It isn’t true, and every honest preparer knows it. Your refund is determined by your income, your deductions, and CRA rules, not by who files the return. Anyone promising a bigger number is either guessing, or planning to claim something you can’t support.
What a good preparer actually does is make sure nothing eligible is missed, nothing ineligible is claimed, and you understand the result. That’s what we do.
We’d rather you leave understanding your return than believing we performed magic on it.
Experience behind the work
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, and work in the field since 2018, across public practice and industry.
That has meant personal and corporate returns, payroll, and year-end work for businesses in transport and trucking, cafés and hospitality, retail and wholesale, construction, e-commerce, and non-profits. Hundreds of returns prepared across public practice and independent work.
It has also meant the systems side: QuickBooks, NetSuite, Power BI, SQL, and integrations with tools like Square and Stripe. Most small firms stop at the filing. We think the bookkeeping underneath it should be just as solid.

We don't promise outcomes we can't control. No inflated refund claims, no credentials we don't hold, no numbers we can't back up. If we can't say it truthfully, we don't say it.

A return you don't understand isn't a service. It's a receipt. We walk you through what changed, why your result is what it is, and what to expect next year.
Fair pricing, agreed upfront
You get the number before any work starts. And once you're a client, asking a question doesn't start a billing clock.
Paperless by design
Secure intake, e-signatures, and digital records. No printing, no filing cabinets, no driving across town to drop off an envelope. Better for you, and better for the environment.
How we work
Everything runs online: secure intake, e-signatures, and calls scheduled around your work, including evenings and weekends. In-person appointments are available on request.
Once you’re a client, questions don’t start a billing clock. We aim to respond within 72 hours.
Based in Delta, British Columbia. Serving clients across Canada since 2022.
